Dear Mr Neece:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the Epstein files. I appreciate hearing from you and having the opportunity to respond.
On November 18, 2025, I voted in support of H.R. 4405, which calls for the Department of Justice to publish all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the DOJ's possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein, withholding only information that relates directly to the personal information of victims or active federal investigation information. Additionally, H.R. 4405 ensures that no later than 15 days after publishing, the DOJ must submit a report to Congress on all the categories of information released and withheld, a summary of any redactions made, and a list of all government officials named.
H.R. 4405 passed the House on November 18 by a vote of 427-1, and hours later, it passed the Senate by unanimous consent. President Trump signed this bill into law on November 19, 2025.
I voted to release the Epstein files because I believe in transparency. I look forward to getting back to work on matters important to Idahoans and Americans.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact me about this issue. As your representative in Congress, it is important to me to know your thoughts and opinions about issues affecting our nation today. I also encourage you to visit my website, https://simpson.house.gov, to sign up for my e-newsletter and to read more about my views on a variety of issues.
Sincerely,
Mike Simpson
Member of Congress
