12th Response from United States Congress Regarding Marller Gets a Spinoff: The Return of Jeffrey Epstein

Dear Mr. Neece,

Thank you for contacting me regarding Jeffrey Epstein and documents related to the investigation of his crimes. I appreciate hearing from you.

Like you, I am deeply troubled by the continued presence of sex trafficking in our country. The pain and hardship endured by victims and their families is unimaginable.

The actions of Jeffrey Epstein and those who enabled his crimes were abhorrent. It is essential that all individuals involved are held accountable and that full transparency is maintained to ensure justice is served. At the same time, we must protect victims, including minors, and any whistleblowers involved in the process to ensure their safety and privacy.

You may be interested to know that I voted in favor of H.Res. 668, which affirmed the House Oversight Committee’s ability to conduct a formal investigation into the horrific crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein. I fully support the Committee’s work and hope this resolution will help protect victims and ensure justice is served. The Committee has already released transcripts and letters from former Attorneys General, pressed Epstein’s estate for unredacted records such as flight logs and ledgers, and recently made public additional documents related to its investigation which you can view here. As the 119th Congress moves forward, rest assured that I will continue to monitor this situation closely and keep your concerns in mind.

Again, I appreciate your thoughts and it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Please do not hesitate to contact me again in the future.

Sincerely,

Lloyd Smucker

Member of Congress
