Dear Mr. Neece,
Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns regarding documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. I appreciate hearing from you.
Sexual violence and exploitation are vile and despicable crimes, and there is no place for them in our society. I firmly believe that those who commit these acts must be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law, no matter who they are, and survivors must be met with unwavering support and receive justice. There is no excuse for inaction when it comes to combating sexual violence.
This is why I fully share your desire for more transparency on this issue. I support efforts to provide transparency while also protecting victims of Mr. Epstein’s crimes.
Given the complexity of this situation, I believe any legislation uncovering information on Mr. Epstein should go through the proper Congressional channels to have the most information at hand before coming to the House for a vote. Especially in light of the Justice Department releasing over 33,000 pages of Epstein-related records, I am very supportive of the ongoing investigation and for more details to reach the public.
As legislation on the investigation continues through the House Oversight Committee relating to the Epstein files, should it come before the House for a vote, rest assured, I will stand up for the safety and justice that every survivor and every community deserves.
It is an honor serving as your representative in Congress. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at (202) 225-5546 or by visiting my website. You can keep up to date with what I’m doing in Washington by subscribing to my e-newsletter. You can also connect with me on Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram.
Sincerely,
Rep. Robert Bresnahan
Member of Congress
