13th Response from United States Congress Regarding Handala Hack Team Iran War

April 3, 2026

Dear Mr Neece,

Thank you for contacting me to express your serious concerns regarding the Trump administration’s recent actions. I appreciate hearing from you because it enables me to better understand the beliefs and values of our district.

Like you, I am deeply concerned by President Trump’s actions and his administration’s repeated violations of our constitution and our system of checks and balances. As your Representative, please know that I will utilize every legislative and oversight tool to hold this administration accountable, protect the people of Colorado, and vindicate our constitution.

As you know, President Trump’s administration has brazenly flouted and violated the rule of law, including through a barrage of executive actions that pardoned those convicted of violent offenses during the January 6th assault on the Capitol, undermined judicial and constitutional norms, and erased decades of progress in civil rights, public safety, health care, and the environment. And his actions have threatened the livelihoods of countless apolitical civil service employees who don’t pass his loyalty tests. Put simply, these attacks on our federal government will have dire, immediate consequences for the people of our state.

Despite President Trump’s reckless actions, I draw hope and inspiration from the engagement of so many Coloradans in our political process, including the thousands of constituents who have attended our six town halls over the past three months. And in Washington D.C., I’ll continue to lead efforts to oppose unlawful actions by the Trump administration. As you may know, I was recently appointed Chairman of the House Litigation Task Force, where I’ve worked to build a clearinghouse within the House Democratic Caucus for our legal and legislative responses to the many unconstitutional executive orders referenced above. In the past month, I’ve been proud to lead over 200 of my colleagues in filing amicus briefs in multiple pending lawsuits, including a successful effort to prevent the unilateral dismantling of the consumer financial protection bureau. You can learn more about my work by visiting the Task Force’s website at litigationandresponse.house.gov.

In sum, I will continue to fight to protect the rule of law and our institutions, and I will carry your concerns with me as your Representative to protect our community, and our country, from the Trump administration's recklessness.

I appreciate that you took the time to contact me. It is one of my priorities that the constituents of the Second District of Colorado have their voices heard, and I encourage you to continue contacting me about the issues important to you. Please visit my website at neguse.house.gov to sign up for my e-newsletter and receive periodic updates on my activities as your Representative in Washington. You can also follow my office on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to learn more about the work we are doing.

Sincerely,

Joe Neguse

Member of Congress
