Before we begin, I would like to point out to you: Why would Joe Dante be targeted by Hekate? Hekate's patterns are she targets things that have to do with the pattern of the Three Fates or Hell or Voodoo Religious Holidays like Summer Solstice and Halloween. Or people who have specific numerology birthdates.
Why would Hekate target Joe Dante? Because his last name is literally Dante's Inferno aka Hell.
Joe Dante's retirement plan for his career is even a website called Trailers from Hell. Why would Joe Dante be targeted by Hekate? Why the hell would he NOT be targeted by that Demon. It's in his blood. It was his destiny.
I'm not going to lie to you Joe Dante: Gremlins 2 The New Batch was my favorite Childhood VHS tape that I would watch nearly one hundred times. I even bootlegged the Alamo Drafthouse preshow when they screened Gremlins 2 in the theater, it's posted on my imdb account.
You were as much my childhood director hero as Frank Oz was for directing Little Shop of Horror or Sam Raimi for making Evil Dead 2.
And that would probably explain why Kevin Neece was being haunted by Hekate. Her influence over his childhood resulted in his obsession with Directors who were under Hekate's Greek Muse Influence and Control which is why Kevin Neece was drawn to the Ah My Goddess anime series just as Jack Nicholson was possessed by The Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

Dan Aykroyd is a UFO-ologist and a believer in Paranormal and the Occult and that might explain why Hekate Death Cursed the living Hell out of his Film Career.
2) John Landis directed An American Werewolf in London which is a Gypsy Curse movie aka Witchcraft.
3) Scatman Crothers is from the Hekate Haunted production of The Shining with The Devil Jack Nicholson from The Witches of Eastwick.
4) Steven Spielberg worked on the Hekate cursed production of Poltergeist where Three Different Actors died, one per movie.
5) Steven Spielberg made Three Indiana Jones movies representing Three Fates. Temple of Doom was about Occult Blood Sacrifice and features the Angel of Death Dan Aykroyd. The Third movie representing The Curse of Skuld featured River Phoenix who died.
6) George Miller made Three Mad Max films representing Three Fates. In the third movie Beyond Thunderdome representing The Curse of Skuld, Hekate death cursed one of the crew members which resulted in George Miller retiring from the Film Industry for nearly a decade. When he came back, Mad Max Fury Road suspiciously featured Goddesses and War Boys who believed they were going to Valhalla from Norse Mythology aka Ah My Goddess and The Three Fates. George Miller's follow up film A Thousand Years of Longing is about a Djinn who falls in love with a Mortal, which is the same plot as Hekate's Ah My Goddess.
7) Albert Brooks was in Finding Nemo with Willem Dafoe from the Viking Witchcraft film The Northman.
8) Albert Brooks was in Lost in Translation with Julie Hagerty from Freddy Got Fingered with Drew Barrymore from the Three Fates cursed movie Charlie's Angels with The Devil Tim Curry.
Gremlins features Phoebe Cates who starred in Tom McLoughlin's Date with an Angel, which features a plot that looks like it was plagiarized for the Oh My Goddess manga series with The Three Fates.
