The Monkey is a recent Stephen King movie about a Toy Monkey that kills people at random every time somebody winds it up and turns the key.
The line in the movie is "turn the key, see what happens". Hekate is known for Sacrificial Offering Keys and crosses people over into the Spirit Underworld. The Turn Key from the monkey results in people's deaths, thus they cross over.
from imdb trivia
According to the director, the decision to have the monkey bang a drum instead of cymbals was due to the rights to the cymbal-banging version being owned by The Walt Disney Company, as the toy had appeared as a character in Toy Story 3. Which is ironic, because the cymbal monkey was in Toy Story 3 in the first place because its director Lee Unkrich is a fan of Stephen King.
Toy Story 3 = Three Fates = Death of Jim Varney, the Slinky Dog. People used to sacrifice their dogs to Hekate.
The opening scene where the Pawn Shop Owner dies reminds me of Leprechaun 3. Three as in Three Fates.
The opening lines of the movie after the Pawn Shop are "Not everybody inherits a curse from their father, but we sure did."
Kevin Neece's Paranormal Investigation into Hekate and Ah My Goddess began with his father's death in 2018.
There is a Japanese Grill Table scene in the movie. Kevin Neece used a Beni-hanas restaurant in the opening of The Bad Goddess Who Fell to Earth

In The Monkey, there's a montage in the movie singing Bob Dylan's I Shall Be Released.
They say everything can be replaced,
They say every distance is not near.
But I remember every face,
Of every man who put me here.
This song, I shall be released, was covered by SAW Franchise Actor Tobin Bell, and it was used by Kevin Neece in Marller Gets a Spinoff Sailor Moon vs Jigsaw. SAW Director James Wan was the producer of The Monkey.

Christian Convery plays Good and Evil Twins in the movie. Kevin Neece used Christian Convery to play The Puppeteer Mokkurkalfi in Ah My Goddess War Games.
The use of Twins (like the Shining) occurs as The Inner Struggle between Good and Evil.

There are a couple of lines in the movie that resonate with me. "It always picks its victims at random, it doesn't take requests" like Hekate.
The final line in the movie about what they are going to do with it. "We accept that it's ours, we hang on tight, and we take it day by day."
