I'm expanding upon this being that I've watched Beetlejuice 2 about THREE TIMES in the Metropolitan Theater, which is located next to a Cemetery and has Three Goddess statues in the Food Concession Stand Lobby.

The Central Plot is about a Demon marrying a Human so he can escape the Afterlife.
That's what happened to Kevin Neece and Hekate. She married him as a joke reference to the plot of Ah My Goddess, so she could possession him and share his life with him. In Hekate's own words, "You have fingers and can operate the DVD Remote, and you can feel the water running down your back when you take showers."
There's a line in the movie, "Yes. Your father flew halfway around the world to watch Birds Do It on a Beach, and it killed him." Jim Neece travelled to the Bahamas to go Snorkeling and it killed him.
There's a line in the movie "It's Ironic that you can see any Ghost you want for your stupid television show, but you cannot see the one Ghost that matters. My Father." Kevin Neece has the ability to invoke Demons for his Ah My Goddess anime show, and spot them in the Hollywood Movies, and he can invoke the Three Fates from Ah My Goddess to manipulate tarot cards, but he cannot invoke the spirit of the one man that he needs the most right now, Jim Neece, his father.
Kevin Neece needs his father to explain to him who the guilty parties are in the San Jacinto Waste Pits Case, what crime they are guilty of, and how the Hard Drive Evidence incriminates them. He is afraid that if he invokes Jim Neece, it will be a Demon responding in his place impersonating him. That's why the trick won't work.
